[EN] Guide for conducting an MBSDA study (Model-Based Safety & Dependability Analysis)  

This guide was developed over an 18‑month period in collaboration with several organizations: AIRBUS Protect, ArianeGroup, DGA, EDF, INSA, ISAE‑SUPMECA, LGM, MBDA, Naval Group, RATP, and Thales. This initiative enabled experts from these organizations—using different tools and modeling languages—to compare their practices, propose standardized definitions, and establish common foundations for modeling methods.

 

Based on the feedback and experience of the members of project P23‑2, as well as the current state of the art, the guide establishes a clear, shared, and trustworthy framework for conducting MBSDA studies. It highlights a common set of rules and best practices to ensure the representativeness of an MBSDA model, its relevance, and its acceptance by stakeholders involved in dependability and safety.

 

Written in a normative document format (IEC – International Electrotechnical Commission), the guide will serve as a reference for the community when performing dependability and safety analyses using MBSDA and could form the basis for a future standardization project.
